Dr Emese Úri

I was born on May 15, 1967 in Vršac, as the middle child of my father, who is a chief physician, and my mother, who is a teacher of chemistry and physics. My sister is also a chief physician, and my brother is an agronomist. I finished primary school in my native village, Jermenovci and in Plandište, and secondary school in Hungarian language in Zrenjanin.

I studied at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, then gave birth to our two children, and since 2000 I have been working at the Health Centre in Sombor as a general practitioner.

In 2008, I passed the general medical specialisation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad. I worked in Sombor in several city and more than 10 village medical stations, where I gained vast experience in primary care.

Since 2010, I have completed several courses on ultrasound examination and I was among the first to begin performing ultrasound examinations in the health centre. Since then, I have lectured at several domestic and international congresses on the importance of early ultrasound examinations.

From 2013 to the present, I have been the director of the Health Centre in Sombor. From August 2020, I am a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in from of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians.

My goals and plans are to strengthen the basic health care in Vojvodina with my knowledge and work, as this is the most common, most accessible, longest-lasting and most close-to-human health care.
